Sofia’s story is both shocking and amazing. It was disturbing to learn about the unusual abuse that she survived. It was amazing to learn of her resilience, courage and determination to live through these horrific experiences. It was even more inspiring to learn of her transformation through deep faith and her willingness to grow in her personal development. This book offers hope and valuable information on how to not only overcome the heartbreak, fear and disappointment of divorce but how to create and nourish a healthy, loving and truly extraordinary relationship.
I am a very old and close friend of Sofia’s and had lived by her side, so to speak, when she experienced some of the horrible things that had happened to her in her dark days in this book. I see someone who finally has the “gold at the end of the rainbow” after being through a long tunnel that seemingly never ended towards the light. I read the book thinking I knew all that went on, but there were new revelations that she had never shared with me. I am so happy that she finally has the life with a partner that she has always longed for and that she so richly deserves. I hope other struggling couples will find comfort and knowledge from the words of her book, just the way she has.
I recently met Sofia again at a reunion and had not known what transpired in her life in the past 40 years. This book gave me an update.It is a very inspiring story that focuses mainly on Sofia’s great struggles to overcome the negative beliefs she was raised with about herself, men, and relationships. Through her own experiences with great abuse, confusion, and despair, she gradually “reached for the light.” Sofia desired a deep relationship with a loving God first and through various classes (Landmark, etc.), Bible study, counseling, introspection, etc. she learned how to move forward in her life. Eventually she feels confident enough to create a new, more mature relationship with a man that is built on a strong spiritual foundation (Bible-based) where respect, forgiveness, and caring are the keys. She has truly transformed her life. Sofia will touch your heart with her courageous journey.
This book not only tells how to have a successful marriage after divorce, but the author and her husband illustrate many great ideas and actions to make a good marriage even more successful. Sofia Besondy really bares her soul by telling about scary relationships before meeting her everlasting husband Charles, and a reader is drawn right in wondering how is this ever going to turn out OK. I encourage readers to discover how. This book can make any marriage stronger and provide hope and encouragement for those divorcees who might be ready to try again.
Sofia is an amazing person. I cannot imagine what it took to go through what she did in her marriages, and heal, and then to contribute her life lesson to others. This book, and the authenticity with which Sofia shares her story and her life lessons is very inspiring. The book also has wonderful suggestions of ways in which one can model behavior in a great marriage. Thank you for your courage, your authenticity and your commitment to contribute what you learned to other people.

What a gift this book is to other people who may be struggling. Thank you for not ending your life and using all the tools at your disposal to create a great life, a great marriage and contribute to others. You are amazing!
I enjoyed the book and can’t believe what a strong person Sofia is today. This is really a testament to the faith and how the Lord will get you through and you can become a survivor.

I enjoyed reading this book. It is a story of a woman of faith facing trials and surviving by trusting God. I would recommend this book if you want to be inspired in life.
A wonderful story of redemption and a life re-found in God and Love. A song of hope for love after so much pain. She focuses so well on the twin essentials of knowing that you want happiness and will settle for nothing less and the other great lesson, communication. Know what you want and stay attentive to that goal. Communication, honest and loving, the key to a marriage. God truly holds this woman in the palm of his hand. Read and learn.
